An effective routine for clear skin is not very difficult to develop. Having a beautiful and clear skin is everyone’s dream but how committed are we to finding an effective routine for that really works for our skin types. When it comes to beautiful clear skin, there are lots of different rules, techniques, products and so much information that needs to be processed. It is therefore, very normal to get frustrated about what to do and use in the midst of so much information. Whiles some are naturally blessed with good clear skin, others such as myself really need to work very hard to find a good routine to achieve clear skin. We have to examine ourselves and try to identify why our skin is not acting right. You will be amazed to see how your skin skin acts differently when you change a habit or two.
I have been fortunate enough to have a nice skin for the most part of my life. Just like many people, most of my break outs were hormonal. So I had them during those times of the month, when I was stressed or just bad bad eating habits. Unfortunately when these bumps and blackheads left, they left dark spots on my face. I had to find out what to do first of all to prevent my skin from from being a fertile grounds for acne. I had to find a skincare care routine that was effective for clearing my skin and guess what, I found it.
IMPORTANT STEPS FOR AN EFFECTIVE ROUTINE
Some women and men have lots of steps to follow in their skin care regimen or routine. You really don’t need all that. It all boils down to your level of commitment and how bad you want to get visible results fast.
An effective skin care routine consists of three main Steps or phases. T
- Cleansing — Washing your face
- Toning — Balancing your skin
- Moisturising — Hydrating and softening the skin.
Cleansing is the most basic and essential of the three steps. You should always wash your face with a cleanser to remove every form of dirt and product sitting on and in your skin. Cleansers should not only clean your pores, they should not overly strip your skin of its moisture. If your cleanser is too harsh and causes your skin to dry out or break out, make some adjustments.
If you have dry and sensitive skin, use cream cleansers. Cream cleansers are usually enriched with moisturizing and nourishing ingredients which help to cleanse without drying your skin. If you have oil skin and are acne prone, then you should try gel-like or foaming liquid cleansers. Such cleansers formulated for a deeper cleanse to remove dirt and excess sebum from your skin.
Finally, if you are looking for goods cleanser that tackle and fight break outs and acne, look for cleansers that contain salicylic acid. This ingredient helps to unclog your pores, reduce sebum production and exfoliate your skin.
Toners not only remove impurities left behind after cleansing, they open up your pores to receive any treatments and moisture you may introduce into the skin. The best way to apply toners in my opinion is with clean hands/fingers. This makes it easy to really pat the product directly into your skin hence, reaping the full benefits of the product. However, if you don’t want to use your hands, you can also apply toners with cotton pads.
Look for toners that have active ingredients such as AHAs and BHAs, rosewater, green tea or chamomile, vitamin C or E. Here are some affordable toners you can try ; Pixi Glow Toner , Mario Badescu Toner.
TREATMENTS AND SERUMS
Once you have toned you may decide to do treatments. This is where you treat your skin for any problem such as dark spots, wrinkles etc. Serums are usually used in this treatment stage. They are very lightweight products which contains very potent ingredients aimed at targeting and treating skin issues. They sink right into the skin therefore, delivering active ingredients straight to the skin.
Moisturizers hydrate and soften the skin. They give your skin the hydration it needs and also lock in the moisture by creating a protective layer on the skin so that your skin is able to retain all of the moisture from all of the previous steps performed.
People with oily skin benefit from from lightweight gel-like and oil-free moisturizers. These moisturizers are usually water based which does not clog your pores rather, they absorb quickly into the skin. For dry skin people, you may use moisturizers that have more hydrating benefits. Moisturizers that are rich and thick creamy consistency are a great option for such type.
Protecting the skin is very important especially in your morning routine. UVAs and UVBs are real therefore, if you want your beautiful ageless skin invest in a sunscreens. Everyone needs a sunscreen including people of color. Don’t be deceived. In fact, you can go through all these steps mentioned above but if you do not throw on a sunscreen none of it is really important in the long run. Protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. This slows down the development of wrinkled and prematurely aged skin.
In conclusion, building a skincare routine is not as complicated as it seems. You don’t need a long routine to have perfect looking skin. All you need is these basics steps. Find out what skin type you are and find out what product works for skin. Stay committed to your chosen products at least for a month to see if it really works or not. Finally, take care of your health in general. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Your internal health and emotional health will reflect on the outside especially on your skin. Therefore take care of your self and don’t be afraid to try new things. Create a good environment for beautiful and clear skin because it is possible.
